Description

Deliciously soft rolls filled with rich Nutella, perfect for dessert or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (divided)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • About 1 tablespoon Nutella per roll (approx. ½ cup total)
  • 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 110°F (warm but not hot). Dissolve the yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar in the warm milk and let it sit until foamy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter. Mix and knead the dough until it becomes soft and elastic—about 8-10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a mixer.
  3. Cover the dough with a clean towel or plastic wrap and place it in a warm spot. Allow it to rise until doubled in size, about 1 to 1 hours depending on room temperature.
  4. Gently punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal-sized pieces (about 8-10). Flatten each piece into a small circle.
  5. Spoon a generous tablespoon of Nutella into the center of each circle. Carefully fold the edges over the filling and pinch tightly to seal, shaping each ball so the Nutella stays completely inside.
  6. Place the stuffed rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each. Cover again with a towel or plastic wrap and let them rise for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash for a glossy, golden finish.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are beautifully browned and baked through.
  9. Let the rolls cool slightly before serving so the Nutella inside thickens a bit but remains luxuriously gooey—perfect for that first heavenly bite.

Notes

  • Ensure the milk is warm but not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
  • Adjust the baking time if using a different oven type.
