Description

Deliciously soft maple cinnamon cookies rolled in powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for rolling

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg, then mix in maple syrup and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  5. Cover and chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
  8. Roll each ball generously in powdered sugar.
  9. Place dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until puffed and crackled but still soft in the center.
  11. Let cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
