- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup vinegar (cane or apple cider)
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp black peppercorns
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- Optional: Sear the chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, brown each chicken thigh for added flavor.
- Combine in slow cooker: Add chicken, onion, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, bay leaves, peppercorns, and water or broth. Stir to combine.
- Cook: Cover and set slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
